Art and creativity have huge potential for re-shaping our imaginations, and shifting the way we see (and therefore live in) the world. (This is all the more true when we’re active participants in it.) It’s FUN. And there’s also a whole load of useful skills (like how to make and mend clothes/decorations/homewares, how to re-use unwanted things and turn them into something new, etc) that we’d forgotten – but which are now making a comeback.
So – in association with Space2 and a posse of local artists – we’re pleased to be hosting an all-day interactive arts space. Activities will include: DIY soaps and cosmetics, poi, bunting-making, calligraphy, rag-rug weaving, origami, sock puppets (!), henna, banner-making, knitting, making wallets out of old tetrapaks, and much more.
For old hands, or novices wanting to learn new skills – and an opportunity to unwind from some of the weightier, more intense elements of the Summat! The arts zone is also the kids space: click here for more info.
