(The Common Room / The Old Book Shop)
The Occupy movement, the Spanish ‘Indignados’, the courageous pioneers of the Arab Spring, and many others across the world, are showing us what is possible when diverse people gather in public space yearning to create new possibilities – each with their own stories, experiences and wisdom to share. Someone recently described the Occupy camps as being about ‘seeding questions in thousands of minds, shaking certainties and orthodoxies so that there is space for new alternatives’.
Indeed, the Summat is all about ‘confluence’ – the flowing together of diverse people, ideas and action, for change. So between 2-5pm, to complement the workshops and talks, a dedicated team will be hosting ‘Convers-Action’ and ‘Imagin-Action’. These sessions will be a convivial opportunity to share what you’re learning… to listen… to raise the questions that are important for you… to dream… to get inspired… to find connections with what others are seeing and doing… and to wonder what might be possible in these incredible times.
Drop in, and join in! The space is there for you.
